I was a milk monitor one year at Little Green Lane ( no it wasn't my last job) It was great because we could help ourselves to any bottles that were left over (and sell them to the other kids) ;D It's called cornering the market! Jerry

I was a milk monitor one year at Little Green Lane ( no it wasn't my last job) Jerry Same here at Somerville Road, Jerry. Boy, were those crate-handles cold in the winter! Occasionally (and as a complete surprise) they used to deliver the odd crate of orange juice in the same size bottles (I think it had a green foil top) and I always used to grab these instead of the milk - it was far more popular! I remember that us monitors were issued with a tool to pierce the foil lids; it was a metal hemisphere and had a metal spike inside it, so we'd invert it over each bottle in the crate, insert a straw and hand them out to our classmates. After the feed, we'd have to take the crate back and tidy the crate area up so that the milk deliverers could whisk them away quickly the following morning. Equation of the week:- Monitor = Sycophant ;D
