Due to persistent rumours, I feel that it is necessary, at this stage, to vehemently deny that I am the head of the British consortium trying to buy the Blues. Despite my best attempts, the estimated £32 million will continue to remain somewhat elusive, unless other Forum members wish to chip in the remaining £31,999,999.
Alternatively, I'm considering going into the hairdressing profession to raise the cash.
Regards
Pete

A couple of 60's Blues photos.. sorry they're a bit on the small side.
Regarding the second photo (Jimmy Bloomfield), do you remember the old alphabetical boards showing the half time scores at other grounds?

Like many players of that era Joe Bradford became a publican when he retired from football. He first kept the Red Lion in Muntz Street. His daughter Rita was in my class at Somerville Road School. As Joe had been one of my heroes I thought that was wonderful. He did well in the licensed trade and, I think, finished up at The Stockland Inn in Stockland Green. If still with us Rita will be well into her eighties and I send my greetings.

If you were a Blues fan in the 1950's and 60's, you'll like this video
If you've been a fan from the 70's onwards, this will be more to your taste

Just found this definition of of 'Asset Stripping'
"The process of buying an undervalued company with the intent to sell off its assets for a profit. The individual assets of the company, such as its equipment and property, may be more valuable than the company as a whole due to such factors as poor management or poor economic conditions."
It would also appear that the lower the performance, the less resistance there is
Mmmmmmm.... I wonder.

At least they survived. Just!. Let's see what next season brings. Life's never boring when you're a Blues supporter.

I think putting Redhead in charge would be another disaster. By his own admission he''s not that bothered. We need someone with drive and energy and passion and his own teeth Jerry

hi jerry
I did not see the redhead out of the pitch kicking a ball and scoring a goal is it a manager they need or a wet nurse the players are paid to do a job and they are not doing it so they are letting the fans down getting money for not doing what they are paid to do if they can win for the redhead then they can win for any one its the players not the manager that need a kick up the back side

Here's a clip from the 1931 FA cup semi-final. Blues beat Sunderland 2-0. (Was it a good game Jerry? LOL!!)
Most of the players probably wouldn't have been successful in the modern game. Mind you, I don't think that the state of the pitch helped!!
