Hello Withnall, As I have said before,I worked at the shop in Bordesley Green,I did know of the shop in Little Green Lane but I understood there had been some kind of falling out between George and Walter at that time.
Regards Joe.

The shop on the right was my Great Uncles shop. Walter Withnall. Hello Withnall! My name is William and I am a great grandson of Walter Withnall, grandson of Joan Davis (Withnall). I've heard about George Withnall, and Nellie, Hazel, Harold, Mabel but I haven't heard enough to fit the family together. I wonder if you have any information on the family's history and if you'd like to discuss further? Would be lovely to hear from you if you have, Kind regards, Will

Fantastic - so glad you replied! Firstly, who are you? Yes I too am struggling with this site, it seems like sometimes the posts are in date order and sometimes reverse date order... very confusing. However, I have a few photos of the Withnall Shops, recognise anyone? I think the elderly lady on the bottom right is the Great-Great-Grandma Withnall?
I'm also interested in the family folklore of Walter & Harold(?) running away to Australia after a gambling ring they were running went amiss? Walter came back but I believe Harold stayed, funny as I now live in Australia too. (no gambling debts tho)
Also if you know anything about their history in the war/s or any other intersting little stories would be lovely as I'm compiling a family history with as many stories as I can find, as far back as I can go.
I think I'm finally working this site out so we can post here if you like, or my email is will_gray@hotmail.com
Warm regards, Will
