HELP REQUIRED The black & white picture shows Stratford Road with Nansen Road on the left and Formans Road next right
Question:-
Is that a Cinema on the left, if so, I know nothing about it
Does anyone have any info ?
It was indeed a cinema originally. It started life in 1911 as The Sparkhill Picture Palace. It changed it’s name to The Savoy in 1923 but closed in 1928. It then became a snooker hall for some time but was finally demolished It didn’t make it onto my cinema section because I didn’t have a photo of it at the time. This information was brought to you by the All seeing, All knowing, Galactically Illuminating, Hyper-Dimensionally Omnipent bloke with the glasses

I still remember vividly our co-op number, the only number that has stayed with me all these years
