I'd like to welcome our newest member, John Daly. He's my big brother and this is his first ever foray onto the internet so be gentle with him, Wal especially might enjoy chatting to him as John, at one time or another, worked in and frequented most of the pubs that Wal used regularly so even if they don't know each other they're sure to have mutual friends and acquaintances.

I ran the Wrexham for a few weeks when the Maloneys went back to Ireland to sort some Business out. My Barman at that time has recently passed away, he was also a very good friend of mine he was Matt Curley. You may have known him. Tony and Joe Wall, Joe Byrnes, The Coughlans Bernie Josie Jimmy, Jack Miley, Scotch Hughie McKechnie, Bilsa O'brian,Bridgett and Stevo Walsh. All the Walsh's from Garrison Lane Jimmy, Christy, Austin, Willie, Jerry, etc. Worked for Gallagher for 25 years and used mainly The Vic and The Emerald was a member of The Emerald for over 30 years. Don't drink now. But i miss it......Cheers Wal.!!! PS. Do you remember Johnny Crosby and Mick The Miller and Dennis Ashe........!!!!

Welcome to the Forum John.
If you can make any sense of what's going on here, please let me know, 'cos it'll be a first!! lol
Seriously though, there are many well versed "Heathens" who use the Forum. Few (in fact no) questions about the area go unanswered.
Look forward to hearing about your reminiscences.
Pete

You'll have to excuse John for not replying to your posts yet. He can only access the net via his phone at the moment and being a bit of a technophobe he hasn't yet got his head around it. He'll get there eventually. Jerry

Just noticed a post by Waltoo in which he mentioned Dennis Ashe. Just wondering if that was Dennis who lived in Greenway Street, and had a brother called Jimmy, and a sister called Tina? I lived in Greenway St from 1961-7o and went to school with Dennis and Jimmy.
