Chetwyns was a good shop. but it sold mainly American themed Clothing and it was rather expensive. So the best shop for us youngsters at the time was Max's on Coventry Road (facing Greenway Street) and cheapish. Got me first Bootlace tie and Drape Jacket there...... Wal.

Used to be the best place for clobber in the 50's, John. Always good for a gawp after visiting Jack Woodroffe's music shop on Saturdays. Chetwyn's clock must have been one of the biggest in the country.
