Talking about the Dispensary on the junction of Henshaw Rd in my last post, brings me to the junction of Henshaw Rd and Cyril Rd, it's a little different today as the actual junction has been closed off. Attachments:

The afore mentioned Peoples Dispensary that became surplus to requirements on the inception of the National Health Act on 5 July 1948. I remember going there after the war and queuing up with my mom to get a new ration book. St Giles' Institute (Billy Pond's) was another venue that was used for this function. My GP's surgery was in the Old Dispensary back in the 80s & 90s.

Very nice scenes both Mac. Looking at the Henshaw Rd/Cyril Rd photo - appears to have been taken around very late 60's/early 70's. I can just make out a Mini van, and a Cortina mk 1 in the distance. The guy's flared trousers probaly hints at the early 70's. looks like a Mk1 Escort 1300 Sport or at least an Escort dressed up like one in Cyril Rd, I dont think they came out till about 72.
