I have seen pictures of the Old Lodge pub on this site which are terrific. I have quite a number of my own which has merited creating this new thread as I couldn't add what I have to those thread pages. The pictures I have were taken mainly between the 1970s - 1980s. There are a few which were taken in the 1960s. I have a lot more to add if members are intrested.

The first picture above shows Mrs Maloney behind the bar with her staff. 2 Shows 2 locals. 3 shows a local lady having fun on new years eve. 4 shows staff and locals dancing the conga new years eve.5 shows a little harmless new years eve fun.6 shows locals having a natter.7 shows the owner of the Old Lodge before Mrs Maloney ran the pub. He was Spanish and ran the pub in the 1960s. I have lots of pictures taken on this night in particular, ( new years eve ) if members are interested in seeing them I will post them gradually.

Do you remember that you've got your own page here? smallheath.proboards.com/board/12/oldonenowPost away! Jerry

Thanks for reminding me of that Jerry. It makes sense to post my pics there. Briefly just a little note here, these pictures may look like a personal collection but remember the Old Lodge is gone and it holds memories for lots of people, those who are still here and for the family of one's who are no longer here. As there are not many pictures of the pub anywhere on the multi sites available for history pictures, remember these pictures date back to the 1960s and that's a decent amount of decades ago Jerry regardless of the theme.

hi, does anyone know anything about the pub during the war years? I think that my grandparents (surname was Jevons)ran it when my dad was a boy, probably early 40s into the 50s. Any information or pictures would be greatly appreciated

Hi martin According to Kelly's Directory from 1940 to 1946 the licencee was Mrs Mary Jevons. The next Kelly's that I've got is for 1956 and by then the licencee is listed as Danl. Tremelljng That's all the info I could find. Hope it helps. Jerry

In the 1950’s it was ran by Dan Tremelling who is once of my ancestors. He ran it when he retired from being a famous footballer. He was goalkeeper for England at one point. His brothers Sol and Billy Tremelling were also prominent footballers in their day.
