Hi Wal, I remember that Army & Navy surplus store on the Cov. My dad got me a wigwam shaped tent , made out of silver foil type material.Could get about 4 of us kids in it. It lasted years, I think it cost about 1 shilling.

Joe. Sounds like the one that we had, Joe. Were the poles on yours a kind of yellow colour?

We also bought tank radio earials from there to make fishing rods. We cut the ends off saftey pins and bound them to the shaft with cotton ,covered that with melted candle wax, these made the eyes for the line to run through. And on yer bike up to Lapworth.
