Welcome to the forum, Waverley. I hope you'll find lots of information, photos & discussions to interest you.
Did you go to Waverley School?
I was there from 1959-1964

So was my brother-in-law (he started in 1950). Have you read Brenda Bullock's 'Pocket With A Hole', Pete?

So was my brother-in-law (he started in 1950). Have you read Brenda Bullock's 'Pocket With A Hole', Pete? No, Malc, I must order a copy. I've just looked it up on Amazon. Did she go to Waverley? From the write up it looks like she lived in Sheldon She wrote a follow-up book too called "Over the Wall: A Working Class Girl at University in the 1950s"Pete I have a copy of ' Pocket with a hole' if anyone wants to borrow it !

She was Head Girl, Pete (but before you started). I got the book because my brother-in-law was mentioned in it; he alerted a number of his ex-Waverley mates and it's caused quite a stir. It's a pity the title she chose gave no hint of what was inside 'cos I'm sure a lot of ex-pupils would have bought it if they'd known it was all about Waverley. Just adding the school crest to a green - rather than brown - cover would have helped. I've looked out for her other stuff but haven't found a trace of any of it. That link you posted just about sums up today's parks and the people who frequent them; no wonder decent kids want to stay in and play on the computer.
