Together with other sites at Marshall Lake road, Shirley, Shaftsmoor Lane, Acocks Green, Fradley and many more. It's a tragedy for the loss of employment and special skills that will be lost forever.
Service industries have taken over as the main employers in the UK. Up until the 70's the balance was 70% production, 30% service. But now it's changed to 20% production, 80% service. (approximate figures)
My concern is that if we don't produce anything any more, where's the money gonna come from? We can't continue buying services from each other forever....... or can we?
The countries with the best economies are mainly those producing goods. It's always been that way. We just ceased to be competitive.
Rant over, sorry about that.

Hi Pete,
It's worse than that. Of the 80% service industry, 47% is foreign owned, so profits vanish out of the country! And only 25% of the 47% pay the correct UK taxation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still I hear milk delivery rounds are on the way back in, hope for us yet.................
Ray.
