Hi Jerry,
One of the pictures I have lost is one of an old Round building on the corner of Cherrywood Road & Bordesley, opposite the Birmingham Municipal Bank.
Two questions:
Could you repost the picture?
What was the name of the Round building?
Many thanks Ray.

Does anyone have any old pictures of Hughes's Biscuit Factory, I think it was on the Cherrywood Road, Bordesley Green, around the 1960's? Thank you Kathy. x

Thank you Kathy. x Hi Kathy, Hughes Biscuit Factory was on the left along Bordesley Green Road going towards Adderley Park Rail Station. I am looking for a picture, but in the meantime I attach an aerial shot showing Arthur Holdens & Thornley & Knight who were on the right side of Bordesley Green Road but opposite is the Hughes Biscuit Factory, the one with the Chimney Stack. Had a quick look Kathy and found this rather nasty one of the biscuit room after a visit from Adolf in 1940

Here's an early one of Bordesley Green Road I thought the opening nearest the camera may have become the drive for Hughes and the one further away where the Colmore Café was but my memory is not great can't remember how far it was between the café and the drive to Hughes

ALFRED HUGHES BISCUIT FACTORY
OWNED DURING LATER DAYS BY THE ROWNTREE ORGANISATION
Another aerial view I'm afraid, but at least you know the whereabouts, if not actually
having a picture of the factory itself.
Have put in a few other familiar local sites

Thank you Ray and Bernie for these pictures. Many years ago I worked at Hughes packing biscuits, every Friday we could buy a box of assorted broken biscuits and pay a few bob for them. Kathy xx
