Hill Street - Navigation Street junction Anyone remember what the large building on the left was?
Ref post #3: I think it's in John Bright Street and not Hill Street, Ray, so it's the block that contained - amongst others - The Birmingham Athletic Instsitute, Jack Woodroffe's music shop and Chetwyn's tailors (on the obscured Navigation Street corner).

Hi Malc, Looking again at the picture, is that distant tram on the left turning into John Bright Street? And following the right side of [ Hill Street ] straight up and under the Post-Office arch shows, I think a differing view had the picture been taken from John Bright Street where I would assume a 'left' bend would show going up Hill Street. Think I understand my logic, but now it's on paper, so to speak, I ain't sure ! OR could it be that the picture was taken in Hill Street BUT the junction of John Bright Street and Hill Street at that time had no building on and therefore that large building is in John Bright Street, but looks like it is on Hill Street ! Oh sod it I'm goin for a tablet and lie-down! Ray.
