Any idea when the tram service began via Byron Road.....this was, presumeably, the forerunner of the number 28 bus route. Have a picture (said to be about 1907) of the crossing of Golden Hillock Rd with Byron Rd/Bolton Rd. Byron Rd is on the lhs and one can see the station in the distance...

Got a picture from the other direction (looking away from the station) - Byron Road Post Office on the rhs.. - seems about the same date

Great photo! I'm pretty sure that Wikipedia gives the start/finish dates for Birmingham Tram routes.

As far as I can discover, the tram line (no: 22) from Hill St. to Coventry Rd. via (and called) Bolton Rd. was discontinued 4th. February 1930 and said to have been abandoned in May 1930.

A couple of slightly better copies of Jerry's earlier photo of the tram on Byron Rd, and another one at the junction of Byron Road & Waverley Road.
