Digbeth Institute and on our left The Old Bulls Head, still going strong and now called The Kerryman. Two doors away, on the extreme left you can just see another pub which was The Horse & Groom, now long gone. Sandwiched in between was a small tailors shop owned by harry Goodman who lived above the shop. I bet he slept well!

Hi streetsofbrum. That's an interesting photo but I can't figure out the exact location. If it's looking up towards the Bull Ring I would have expected to see the church steeple unless it's round the bend. or I am I've tweaked it so it's a bit clearer. There's a union jack and street bunting so what would they have been celebrating?

This shot from 1949 gives a better view of the Horse & Groom building, looks like it was converted into shops.

Hi streetsofbrum That was the old Small Heath Alliance team after they had become Football League second division champions in the 1892 - 1893 season. They dropped "Alliance" from the name in 1888. Jerry
